Today, 8/11/24, marks the last blessed Sunday of my 50s. A wave of exceptional gratitude washes over me as I reflect on the past five decades. It's been a journey filled with laughter, tears, triumphs, and lessons learned. I've loved fiercely, lost bravely, and grown exponentially.

I vividly recall being a five-year-old girl in Williamsfield, a rural village in the parish of Hanover, Jamaica. Our front-yard boasted a towering tamarind tree, where my father, a deacon then, held Sunday school for the community's children and young adults. Fast forward to today, the last Sunday of my 50s, and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the fullness of my life.
There's a certain magic in this moment, a bittersweet blend of nostalgia and anticipation. Sitting here, relishing in this moment of welcoming this new day, watching the sunrise and it's beautiful reflection in the lake, savoring the momentum leading up to my 60th year around the sun, I'm reminded of my incredible journey that brought me here.
