Where Do We Go for Belief

Last week I shared about rising above the noise and believing louder. I’ve also been reflecting on another side of belief: Where do we go for belief when the happenings in the world can have us second-guessing?

Because let’s be clear—the ugliness we see paraded in front of us, inhumanity, negativity, seeds of fear—that is not what we are to believe in. That is not the truth we are called to live by.

And then, I had a light-bulb moment as I stepped away from writing: How can I not believe when here I am, writing my first novel? That, too, is belief made real. It’s proof that dreams can materialize right in the middle of everyday life.

Maybe that’s the point: belief is not only distant or abstract. It is what we practice right here, right now. It’s choosing to see and observe the evidence of our own belief in our lives—in the small wins, the moments of beauty, and in the ways we keep showing up even when the world feels heavy.

Where do we go? What do I believe in? What would I give everything for when the world around us is telling us that belief is a fool’s errand?

Because the answer to that question points me back to where my belief begins.

Because the answer points me back to where my belief begins.

For me, my list is clear:

  • God.
  • My children and grandchildren.
  • My family.
  • My friends who are like family.
  • The possibility of beauty, innocence, humanity, goodness.
  • The potential inside each of us to rise, to heal, to become.

I will not quit believing in good.
I will not stop believing in God, in love, in people, in the future, in the simple joy of a Sunday morning. (If you know me, you know Sundays have always been special to me. They are my reset, my grounding, my space of faith and stillness.)

Doubt is not worth more than hope. And I will not concede that dreams are nothing more than illusions.

Here’s what I know for sure:
Faith is a superpower.
Faith takes what looks impossible and makes it possible. Faith doesn’t erase doubt, but it stands taller than doubt. Faith is the spark that lights belief back up when it feels buried. It is the strength that steadies us when proof falls short.

Belief does not require perfection. But it does require us to show up.

  • It’s about paying the tithe of faith when life asks for more than we think we have.
  • It’s about drinking clean water in a world full of neon distractions.
  • It’s about trusting that Sundays — and every day — are worth showing up for with gratitude, reverence, and hope.

So I choose belief—again and again. Not because it’s easy. Not because it’s obvious. But because belief is survival, creation, and resistance. Because belief is how we rise above the noise.

🍂 And maybe that’s what fall reminds us too: change is inevitable, but so is renewal. Seasons shift, and so do we. With each transition, we get another chance to live by faith, to unleash our magic, and to choose belief again.

 AFFIRMATION

I choose belief—again and again. My faith is my superpower. I am grounded in my purpose.

Your belief is within you, steady as the seasons and strong as your own heartbeat. Let’s BELIEVE LOUDER and keep dreaming and believing.
