“You are loved, valuable, blessed, beautiful, enough, and worthy, every day of the year, no exclusions.”
Due to what I shall call “divine happenings”, I am solo on Valentine’s Day this year. For transparency, I haven’t been solo on V-Day for a very long time so the thought of being solo on what is celebrated as the Day of Love, actually felt scary as the reality of the day approaches. I have been doing a lot of deep soul work as part of my healing journey and my hope is that sharing my journey will inspire someone else. I believe that when you are doing soul work and have questions, the universe always sends answers. My answer came in the form of 2 loving pigeons who I shall name Melo and Belo.pair of loving pigeons by Marcia Allen
I met the pair one evening during dinner on the beach and they were just doting and loving on each other – I even felt like they were showing off but if you know about loving pigeons or doves – that’s what they do.
Seeing the pair reminded me that Valentine's Day is coming and my heart sank.
Valentine's Day, for the twosomes who celebrate, is a chance to express love for each other through special sentiments, flowers, chocolates, special dinner and time two.
What happens to Melo on Valentine's Day when life happened and Belo is no longer around? Seeing Melo and Belo, I immediately had an Aha moment and a clear vision for my solo V-Day. So, I'll tell you what happens.
Solo Valentine – you are totally FINE!
Melo will be totally fine. In fact, I will say she is better than fine. She is perfectly capable of buying her own chocolates and flowers, and she absolutely loves the idea of making it a special time for self-care and falling in love with herself all over again. That's what Melo will do on V-Day. Melo does not need a holiday to know how loved and how lovable she is.
You see, Melo knows her worth. She loves on herself and honors her unique gifts by taking care of herself, mind, body and soul. She does this so that the love within her can flow freely - radiating and spreading love and good vibes to the world.
If you are solo on Valentine's Day, make it a special day for you. Ask yourself what you need and respond to your inner voice. Treat yourself to something special and dote on yourself, the beautiful soul that you are, keep this affirmation close to your heart.
Affirm this in your heart:
“I am loved, valuable, blessed, beautiful, enough, and worthy – every day of the year, no exclusions.” |
Sending you all love and light…and until our next NASTÉ Inspirations encounter...be bold, be brave, be you…unleash your magic.

Thank You for this reminder that we need to love on ourselves. Sometimes we depend on others to show us love but we’re lacking self-love. Happy Valentine’s Day to me….❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing Melo and Belo and your wonderful, positive and uplifting thoughts with us. This post is indeed a tremendous reminder of the fact that we should be comfortable with finding peace and contentment in moments of solitude.
